Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays (also known as dental radiographs) are an important dental tool that helps dentists to examine the parts of your mouth area that are not visible. Dental X-rays help to detect dental decay early as well as abscesses, impacted teeth, bone loss and spot potential problems in your teeth and jaws.

Adults, Dental X-ray pictures are used for:

- Finding decay on invisible parts that cannot be seen with a normal visual examination.
- Finding cracks in an existing filling.
- Assistance to discover the problems in a root canal.
- Assist with many dental treatments such as dental implants, Dentures and orthodontic treatments.
- Identifying abnormalities in your mouth such as mouth cancer, cysts.
For Children, Dental X-rays are used for:
- Finding tooth decay
- To monitor the tooth growth and development
- Dental X-Rays help to see what space there is in mouth for new teeth.
- Finding whether supernumerary teeth are developing and have impacted on existing teeth.
The dentist will recommend how often you will need dental X-rays taken. If you go for regular dental check–ups or have had no recent dental diseases and have good dental history, you may not need frequent X-rays. However, if your dental history and current condition of your mouth is not healthy, you may need to have dental radiographs frequently to keep the condition under control. Nevertheless, your dentist will examine you and x-rays will be taken if required.
